So, What the hell is this Lowdown Project?

The Lowdown Project is a variation of the Traveling Gnome or Traveling Penguin, except for the larceny. The humble Behringer BDI21 will eventually make a trip around the world, stopping only to sightsee with its host and help him/her bring the rawk. It has made the circuit through Seattle and is slated for quite a tour.

It goes like this:
1) Package (containing the Behringer BDI21, the power supply, and journal) is sent to a bass player.
2) Bass player takes it around town and either to the studio or a gig.
3) Photographs are taken at the various locales.
4) If possible, bass player records short clips.
5) Impressions, opinions, experiences, and various lies about one's prowess (either on bass or in bed) are recorded in the journal.
5) Package is sent on to next person on the list, and the pictures and possibly audio are sent to the webmaster.

How many other cities will be involved in the Lowdown Project?

Exact number? Hard to say. Seattle, L.A., NYC, Detroit, London, Sydney and Chicago for sure...many more to come.

Why bother doing this?

If you have to ask this question, you're not going to derive much amusement from this site.

How can I get involved?

Contact zero@chemist.com, or just private message zeronyne at the bass player magazine forum.
Make sure that you:
1) are committed to following through.
2) own a bass, and a digital camera.
3) have a connection to the internet and the ability to upload or email the pictures taken.
4) have the financial means to ship a 5 pound package to at least Chicago.
